Back to Drawing and Developing Character

Wed Nov 4, 2009, 7:43 PM
After having no time to draw (about a month or so) I finally had some downtime to draw some new things. I got tired of playing videogames so I took a break and started working on a new original character. I've already submitted two sketches in regards to this character. I plan to create a story with him once I make a character reference chart. This will also show his last two accessories, the omniboots and his special overshirt/coat. I was very happy that it only took me two days to complete the full character sketch of Ryuja.

Art News:

Now I have a character to work with. My original lombax character Ryuja. He was inspired after listening to various songs from the Battle Arena Toshinden series and plus after seeing the advertisements for R&C A Crack in Time (I really want a PS3 to play those new games...) I figured it was time to go to another one of my favorite sci-fi series. Mostly my submissions will be of characters in the story I'm developing for Ryuja as well as practicing drawing lombaxes. I may draw a few Toshinden characters from references but for now this will be my main project. Once I get a few critiques back, if the submissions are good enough to be inked I will ink them and then color them. I'll also use Ryuja to try drawing from various angles, positions, and poses.

Thanks a bunch for the Extreme G pics. This has been the only place I could find the racers for the game. :-D

Its a shame there is no specific category for videogame screenshots. I hope someday there is. Eventually I will retake these photos cause certain ones were taken from an old analogue televison. If I take the photos of these vehicles on a HDTV the lines and poor appearance is gone.

Glad you like them though. When I get better at drawing vehicles I'll have to try sketching the bikes.

i really affascinated to the weapons of every kind. those of your photos, where you make that?
:iconjuno54:
I am glad you like my weapon photos. But I did not make these weapons. These were made by a renaissance festival blacksmith shop. I go to a local renaissance festival in my area every fall. They always have weapons on sale and many of them are nicely made. They are also kind of the highlight of my art profile here on deviant art (they get the most favs).

The festival brings a lot of different craftsmen and performers. My favorite performer is Cast In Bronze, it's a musical performance using a four ton instrument called a Carillon. Its comprised of multiple bells that produce a variety of tunes (similar to a piano). Aside from that the festival changes every year and I plan to go to a much larger one later in the fall.

wow!... when i was a child, i wanted to be a blacksmith because i like to see the "little stars" jumping out to the hot metal Hammered :D :star:
