Tube Slider Photos

Journal Entry: Wed May 14, 2008, 5:07 PM
Hello everyone, glad to be back once again here on Deviant Art. I am in the process of taking video game screenshots from a game called Tube Slider. It is a decent sci-fi racing game for the Nintendo Gamecube. It came out in 2003 so it is old by today's standards but I still like its tough AI and the ships are really cool looking. Out of all of the ships in the game the Assassin is my favorite, followed by the Gekko. Anyway I apologize that the screenshots are in poor quality since I don't know a better way to take the photos other than with my digital camera. Still, I hope you like the photos.

Assassin, Gekko, and Tube Slider copyright of Nintendo, NdCube, and NEC.
Nintendo Gamecube copyright of Nintendo.

I really do. I think your element project is really impressive. It will be cool to see when all the elements are made. I know this will take some time but it will be worth it.

Thanks, I apreciate the info. That is the one flaw in my camera, it cannot take good close up shots of a subject. It can take some good distance shots but it can't do close ups.

100mm macro lens used, it is good in the fact that it is fast and does not have to be to close to the subject.

It is an amazing close up shot of the moth. With such clarity to. I have a hard time adjusting my camera to take good close up shots.

Of course I understand I have a real life. Video games are a hobby along with photogrophy and drawing. But writing stories and incorporating them into a game is what a really wish to do in the future. For to long there have been cookie cut stories in games. There is very little depth in characters as well the surroundings where the story takes place. RPGs to an extent have good plots and developing characters but those concepts shoudn't be limited to just RPGs. The ideas of extended plot and constantly changing characters always adds more depth to both a written story and a game.

Sorry for the rant.

Practice, practice, practice. Once you learn how each vehicle works and responds... it should be a breeze. I've played the game so many times that there no challenge other than time attack mode. You've been to Billboard race track, haven't you!? The fastest track time using the Vanilla for me was 28.37 secs. I can't even imagen how I did it, I look at the record every time and I always try to bet that time. I think that's that's my highest limitation.

Just practice and you'll get in the zone, I promise you that. Just don't forget... you have a life and playing games isn't everything and it won't get you anywhere in real life.

I tried doing some of the tougher modes but I would always get defeated by the computers. I didn't know how to drift well. I used the Octopus or the Gekko, then I went to use the Assassin. The game still has challenge to it because of the tough computer players.

I've done the Spider and dam was that hard... too much detail, that and I'm a little scared to even look at or post it. I'm a speed freak so I'd have to say that the Vanilla and Vanilla Royal are my favorites :D. An besides with all that extra speed it took "a lot" of time to learn how to control it perfectly.

Thanks though :highfive:

Anytime, I don't see a lot of Tube Slider artwork. Plus the assassin ship was my favorite ship in the game. Getting the other ships and the Spider is extremely difficult.
